Belt tightening of block cracking up

This is another facinating find.  It is an oil that is 4 ft by 2,5 ft which depicts the stress of breaking up concrete within a human belt.

The other room

Here we view a painting that I picked up over five years ago.  I was cleaning out someone's garage and was asked to take this one and a few others.  To me, it looks like a mouth from another world.  The oil is about 4 ft high and 2.5 ft wide.

Front Door to the Studio

The door into the studio, notice the propane heating system.  I need it to stay warm!

My studio is conncted to a different room. See the door on the far wall. I can introduce the dynamic of more space. (1st studio, 18 ft by 12 ft, extended area to follow)  See the 'Renoir' on the wall...top right hand corner...she has the doe eyes.....

Artist Studio 2

Another angle in the room....what do you think....there are quite a few canvases that have yeat to be documented

Artist's Studio

Back in my studio, what do you think?  Nice to be back, yes, lots of work to do,

Another perspective from the SKY

My flight back to Calgary.  The Peace Conference a memory, a long drive home a concern.  This pick is from my window seat of the ground below.

The means to manifest the WILL

There is much discussion about will. and the means to manifest will.  On one band the enemy is IGNORANCE and the other the enemy is EGO.  Ignorance is dissolved by education, the learning to read and write to better interpret the world we see.  Ego is dissolved by putting down weapons of destruction and getting busy at the real work to be done.  The building of bridges of peace, of infrastructure for the undeveloped, and underdeveloped communities in the world.  Greg Mortenson and his team are doing this.  They have created the CAI to give the women and children of both East and West an opportunity to be understood.  This is the heart and soul that drives this organization.

Religion, Political interest, Race/Color - put these aside:

To be human is what we are discussing at the conference.  On it's own, being human is borderless and colorless, free of race, creed and religion.  Greg Mortenson and his team have created the CAI for women and children of both the East and the West.  The inspiration comes from witnessing the children with pencils and paper learning to read and write with the seed of reaching their true potential.  It comes from the witnessing of children collecting pennies for donation to build schools on the other end of our globe.  The inspiration comes from women that want to improve their lifestyles and apply themselves more effectively to the needs of their communities in both East and West communities.

CRUX of the Building Bridges of Peace Conference

From the view of the 'artist', whether individuals are Hollywood and TV film producers, whether they are Designers. Journalists, or Photographers, what is evident is that mind and soul exists within everyone, and that how one expresses their art form is their ability to manifest a harmony between the two.  This is the  beauty of humanity, the ingredient that make each of us unique.  The crux of the conference is a powerful one.  Here we compare the mind and soul.  We have both functioning in our existence at the same time.  This to me is the art form.

Self Discovery

It has become apparent the artist (painter) is woven into similar cloth, compatible to the artistic skill sets being present at the conference.  There is as much discussion about building bridges between the East and the West as tbere is about building bridges between the Mind and the Soul.

My Business Card, be happy to send one :)

Day two of Chicago Peace Conference (Mind over Matter)

The mind presents the perspective, where there is the will there is a way.  Like the challenges we need in life, to sustain life and to develop the lifestyles that we desire.  The primary source of this thought is the 'will'.  Who has the will and why?

Greg Mortenson has the will and the Conference is about why.  Greg created the CAI and is a master at bringing together the mind and soul.  Just read his book '3 Cups of Tea' and you will discover the most impressive story of will.  Greg walks his talk, there is no doubt about it.  In short, Greg looked at the mountains and climbed them.  He looked at the children and built them schools.  He decided to, and then did it.  Of course he had to assemble a team, worthy in strength and of mind and soul.  Greg didn't give up.  He stood tall to all the resistance and critics around him.  He is an individual I admire immensely.

The soul speaks to everyone.  The soul says:  ”Give me a pencil and I'll learn to write”  ”Give me a canvas and brush and I'll paint it"  "Give me a camera and I'll tell the world"  Just like Greg looked at the mountains and decided to climb them.  Just like he looked at the children and decided to build them schools.  The soul does not ask why.  It doesn't ask when and how.  The soul is, it doesn't change.  In my opinion, the soul is the deepest point of our existence.  When we start to give it expression, we become happy.  We discover joy.  We realize our true potential.  The soul however, without the mind, is but a shadow of it's true potential.

We create our future in America

A heart felt presentation by all panel members.  The general message:  Strive for the highest in ourselves to deliver our message using our gifts.  Let's not accept the complainers and critics that drive negative press.

We all have our gifts...,lets give these gifts and make a difference!  Lets move beyond the boundaries of Politics, Media and Religion and discover what we can do as a team and by individual effort .

Let us be the means by which the East and West find a common ground, a place where we can understand one another and learn from one another
